Environment resilience
Together with our clients, we're working to make their new and existing assets more resilient to a changing climate, safeguarding communities.
Equipping assets for our changing climate and protecting communities
Our changing climate is increasing the prevalence of weather extremes, presenting risks for our assets and ways of life that can be difficult to predict. It is vital therefore that we build-in resilience to ensure services, buildings, infrastructure and communities can continue to function effectively into the future.
This demands a new approach to constructing, protecting and adapting assets, which plans for responses to environmental events and mitigates potential impacts.
Increasing sea levels and changing weather patterns are driving rising sea levels, resulting in increasing risk of coastal erosion. The increased intensity of storms requires new ways of modelling and mitigating river flooding, tidal surges and surface water flooding.
Heatwaves and droughts are necessitating new thinking to protect against wildfires, as well as increasing demand for water. In the face of these diverse risks, it is essential that services, buildings, infrastructure and communities are safeguarded.
Applying data intelligence and knowledge
Our track record spans the different facets of environmental resilience. We have extensive experience in leading the delivery of flood and coastal erosion mitigation projects and programmes.
We drive nature-based and nature-enhancing project solutions, as well as physical interventions. With our project, programme and portfolio management capability, we manage our clients’ risk profiles, delivering the complex, multi-faceted solutions their challenges demand.
We have the data intelligence in cost, carbon and schedule that is essential in developing a full understanding of the impact of potential actions. We convert that to intelligent digital solutions that drive informed modelling and benchmarking.
