Providing further support to Network Rail, Turner & Townsend has appointed to Lots 1 and 2 of its professional services framework for the North West & Central (NW&C) region.
As the company continues to deliver enhancements and renewals to its network and looks to achieve greater sustainability across Britain’s railway network, Turner & Townsend's UK experts based in its Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham and London offices, will provide consultancy services in portfolio management (Lot 1) as well as guidance on environment and sustainability management (Lot 2).
Lot 1 of the framework has been designed to support £4.1bn worth of capital delivery enhancements, renewal projects, new station builds and signalling programmes across Network Rail’s NW&C region. This includes all areas of portfolio management such as planning, controls, risk, change, digital, performance management and information control.
Turner 7 Townsend's controls and performance team will support the delivery of each, focusing on a safe working environment while keeping projects and programmes on time and on budget throughout development and construction phases.
Working with Temple, who are the main supplier, the global professional services company has also been appointed to Lot 2 of the framework to provide its expertise in environmental, sustainability and carbon management, helping Network Rail transition to green, renewable, low carbon energy and achieve its ambitions of being net zero by 2050.
The professional services framework will operate for three years until 2027, with an opportunity to extend for an additional two years.
“With an enjoyable 20-year history, our relationship with Network Rail has been an integral part of our infrastructure business and we are delighted to be able to build on this further through this appointment.
We are already providing ongoing support to several of their regional frameworks including the Programme & Project Management Services framework for the NW&C region, in addition to other major rail programmes across the UK, such as the Midland Mainline Electrification Programme and Transpennine Route Upgrade.
We are delighted to build upon those credentials and strengthen our relationship with Network Rail while intertwining our capabilities in net zero advice and portfolio management.”
