Salisha Roberts
Associate Director, Cost Management, US
I find great fulfilment in contributing to projects that benefit a broad community of people and can be visited and enjoyed by millions from around the world.
As a Associate Director, I provide commercial support to my clients in delivering their capital programmes. I have had the privilege of working for two prominent energy and natural resources clients in Houston, where I contribute to the success of various aspects of their real estate division.
Following the completion of my degrees in the UK, I sought practical experience by joining a small construction firm. Soon after, I decided to apply to Tuner & Townsends’s graduate scheme and over a decade later, I’ve had the opportunity to work on some fantastic projects across our business in London, Manchester and Houston.
At the same time, I've been able to grow my career and gain my chartered surveying status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Working for a global company has opened doors for me to explore different sectors and gain valuable experience in multiple markets.

Q. What attracted you to join Turner & Townsend?
A. Turner & Townsend works on some of the world’s largest and most influential projects, and for a wide range of clients. I aspired to work for a company of this calibre.
Q. Detail any specialist skills or experience for which you are known
A. Most of my experience throughout my Turner & Townsend career has been within the infrastructure sector, where I have had extensive exposure to projects using the NEC form of contract. Contract administration is therefore one of the skills that I have been able to develop. I prefer working on projects that are in delivery or construction as this is where my cost and commercial management skillset is strongest.
Q. Describe your typical day.
A. Once fulfilling my parenting responsibilities, I make my way into the office, which will either be our Houston office or a client’s. Managing three different commissions can be quite challenging, requiring me to be vigilant and adaptable. With a cup of coffee or tea in hand, I then approach my calendar and to-do list, prioritising my tasks for the day and preparing appropriately for any meeting I have scheduled.
Q. What do you most enjoy most about working at Turner & Townsend?
A. The fantastic people that I have had the privilege of collaborating with and learning from. As a global business, we have the opportunity to celebrate and gain a personal appreciation of so many cultures.
